Kansas Pay Day Loan problems
Date: Mon, 10/25/2010 - 10:47
Speedycash.com $575.00
247Greenstreett.com $345.00
Think Cash $1600.00
Advance America $260.00
Quik Cash 575.00
I was paying on some of them, but I don't have any money at all left to feed my kids or anything else so I gave up and closed my checking account as a last resort. I'm afraid of wage assignments, I am so sick of the constant calls, now they're calling friends and family. Anybody in my area have any advice???

Speedycash - Was it an internet loan?
247Greenstreet is not licensed in your state.
Think Cash is an installment loan, backed by the First Bank of Delaware.
They should not be treated like a pdl, since they are an installment loan. And, since they are backed by a bank, our Federal Law allows them to import their home state's interest rate and bypass any state licensing or laws.
Advance America is a member of the CFSA and is not a payday loan. You will be give an Extended Payment Plan if you contact their corporate office and ask for it.
I don't know whether Quickcask is a member of the CFSA or not. Have to do some research on them.

Thank you. And Speedy Cash was an online loan, although they do have store front locations, but not in close vicinity to where I live. When you say Advance America is not a pay day loan, what does that mean? Do you know why Check Smart wouldn't accept my payment arrangements? I don't owe them that much, and I can't come up with the full amount so I would have assumed offering payments would have been easier for them than pursuing a judgment.

I did forget one more, I had a loan with Check N Go that I defaulted long ago on and those clowns from First IRS are now calling me and threatening me. This was also a store front, I paid it down to $160.00.

I had an EPP with them, made one payment and couldn't make the next. That's when their cooporate office started calling me and they're the ones that said they wouldn't take my payment offer and that they would uphold my contract with them. I don't know what he was referring to exactly. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the contract, I am guilty of not reading those lengthy things and who knows what I agreed to. I feel like such a fool.
You didn't read the agreement!!!!!!!! That's the biggest mistake
You didn't read the agreement!!!!!!!! That's the biggest mistake people do. Each and every word should be read.

I know. I NEVER intended to not pay it off though. Not a valid excuse, I know, but I got caught up in it. I kept paying and re-borrowing. I just had to make a decision because I couldn't maintain it any more. My husband lost his job, we have thousands in medical bills, things just got out of hand quickly, and it got to where I couldn't feed the kids or pay for gas to get to work. I never intended to blow them off, just need a breather to catch up. You know I had EPP's paid off in the past and they just couldn't wait to re-loan me money. They love you when they have you sinking in debt, but loathe you when you ask for help. I know I made the agreement, I know I am the only one responsible for the debt, but I have paid off the same loan amount 100's of times over. They have made an absolute killing off of me, and others like me. Shame on me for getting myself in this mess, I was just looking for advice on what to expect from them.

I am currently working through the same situation as you with regards to payday lenders. Lucky for me other than one they are all illegal in my state, I've sent them all the necessary documents to stop them from bothering me and thinkcash.com is the only payment I have. I too got to a point that my whole check was going to paying this people but when I figured it out that my next paycheck I'd actually be short that was it I had to do something. Lucky for me I found this site. It has been a godsend. I have learned so much, I'm already starting to receive paid in full letters and I only started sending out notification last week. Hang in there, you've found the best place possible for help and advise.
