I have been dealing with PDL's for quite some time. The latest is that I have 13 PDL's. In the beginning, I hired an attorney to help me settle these. The attorney 2 mos later has stated that he is unable to help. I have not paid on these since May of 2010. I am considering bankruptcy. I have met with a bankruptcy attorney but not sure if this is what I want to do. The PDL's are Cash Net USA 473.71, Cash Transfer Center 444.51, Platinum Finance Company 650.00, Cash Advance Now 500.00, Eastside Lenders 585.00, Cash Jar 250.00, Payday Loan Yes, 350.00, Upfront Payday 682.00, Quickest Cash Advance, 520.00, Instant Loans Now 715.00, Cash Advance USA, 200.00, Qloot or DMA Financial Corp 375.00, VIP 300.00. These are the current balances owed. Just received a call from John Medina of Capitol Collections who states that he is calling for Cash Advance Now and Cash Advance USA. If I dont call back by tomorrow, my account will be sent for future court review. I live in Maryland and need to know what I need to do in order to get out of the payday loan trap. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

CashNetUSA is your only legal loan. You need to pay them according to their terms. If you've not yet defaulted, try asking them for an extended payment plan. That will stop all interest/fees and break your payoff into 4 equal payments.

Your other loans are illegal and anything you've paid to them so far should be subtracted from the amount you owe. You are only required to repay the amount actually deposited into your account (no fees/interest, etc.) Check out this link for how to deal with these lenders. Your first step is to close your account. http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html
