I just posted this under debt management by mistake. Sorry if you come across this twice:?.
Just saw that Arrow Financial was trying to sue me for 1144 for an HSBC card that was charged off in May 2007 for 484. I then paid this account in Jan.2008. Apparently, the same month, it was sold to Arrow. They then tacked on fees bringing the total to 1144. They are now trying to sue me for that amount plus court costs. I do not have records showing that I paid off HSBC any longer. I also have never received anything from Arrow (I only know about the suit from checking my public records and comparing to my credit report. The SoL in MD is 3 years anyway, but HSBC operates out of IL which is 5 years. Does anyone know what I should do? I was going to request Arrow verify the debt, now I'm afraid to as they will know my address then. Any suggestions?

Is your current address not being reported on your credit report?

I paid them with a money order. Unfortunately, I have not been very good in the past with keeping receipts and things like I should! No, my current address is not being reported. I moved in Sept. of last year and got a post office box, then I moved again in July--my current address is the address on my license, but it has not updated on my credit report apparently.
