Lost Job and I am current with all but 1 CC (150 days past due) They suggested that I keep paying them to get caught up and not go over 180 days, and not pay someone else being they are current I would have up to 6 months to catch back up, They said keeping past due under 180 days will help keep CR better , once I go over 180 days my CS will be worse for up to 7 years!

Should I take her advice!

It all really depends on what YOU can afford...if your job prospects are slim and you need to pay your basic expenses, dont pay them. What good is a credit rating if you cant afford to eat.

Any lateness will affect your credit.

Hi! jobs are slim in my field, and I have been doing this 25 years, unemployment will cover basics and all other will have to wait, going from 7k a month to $1200 unemployment is going to take being creative,but with savings I can make it 4-5 months and hope to find something. Thanks

My deepest sympathies to you. It is TOUGH out there. I have to agree with Soaplady. Pay the most basic needs first, like housing, lights, food, etc. and after that, Cobra if you can afford it.
Also when you are looking for a job, be flexible. Keep your options open for positions in other fields that you could qualify for.
