I received a phone message from them yesterday, telling me they need me to contact them asap. They also gave me a file number. I am having financial probs right now, but I've also been getting harrassed bu Portfolio Recovery over an oustanding debt from 15 years ago, which isn't even on my credit report anymore. Should I call them back?

Are you referring to Portfolio Recovery Services? Well, ask them to send you a collection letter first. Then, dispute it and send them a Cease and desist letter.
