I sent Cash Jar a ACH revoke authorization letter and it worked. They have done nothing else to my account. However, after doing some math, I spent about an extra $300.00 on the $200.00 principle. Has anyone else out there had any luck getting a refund from these people?? Really would like to get my $$$ back.

Thanks for the answer Paul. Is there any particular format for the letter requesting a refund?

I used to work for cash jar until i found out the nature of the business. What you can do is contact attorney general, consumer affairs and also bbb and demand a refund. they will be so scared they will give you a refund. they are terrified of those businesses bc they are illegal. A class action lawsuit is in progress on this company. the company also is under cashyes.com. they are ran by same company just different name to herd off authories. Demand you refund!!!

Thanks everybody for the advice on this. I did send them a letter via e-mail as I said I would on Friday afternoon 11/5 demanding a refund and a response in 5 working days. Well, today is Tuesday 11/9 and no response. Do you think they are waiting to see what I will do if they don't respond?? Also, if they have a class action coming up soon against them, wouldn't you think they would want to resolve any type of issue like this ASAP??

Okay Paul,

Here is what I sent tem today. Do you think I scared them...LOL! I can't get them to respond.

11/10/10

This a follow-up regarding my account. Has anyone reviewed the correspondence below from either 10/6/10 oor 11/5/10?? Is there a a more appropriate e-mail address to send this? I have sent two e-mails in one month's time and received no response to either.

11/5/2010

To whom it may concern:

I have made two revisions that were initially incorrect on this letter from 10/6 and never received a written response. it is concerning principle that is $200.00 (not $300.00 as stated below), and the amount paid $335.00, (not $535.00 as stated below)
So the following is as follows:
I have paid $335.00 on my $200.00 loan through my banking account.

$60.00 7/1/10
$90.00 8/31/10
$90.00 9/1/10
$95.00 9/30/10

The legal highest amount that could have been charged on my $200.00 loan, if you are or had been licensed in the state of Illinois is a cap of $15.50 per $100.00 In the event that a lender is not licensed in the state, then the borrower is responsible for the principle itself ($200.00) and nothing more. ***(See Payday Loan Reform Act attached)***

I have OVERPAID my loan in the amount of $135.00 I am demanding a refund of that overpayment. I also demand that my loan be marked as PAID IN FULL and that any actions to collect more be stopped. I also demand that any contact to me must be done through e-mail or postal service so that I can keep accurate copies of any correspondence in case I need to file a formal complaint.

If the above demands are not met I will have no other option than to file a formal complaint with the Illinois Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau.

I expect a response within 5 business days or I will have no choice but to file the complaints. Please be aware that I have sent this correspondence via email, and as well as have kept a copy for my records in the event that formal action needs to be taken. I expect my refund to be issued in a timely manner. As long as my loan is marked with a PAID IN FULL status and my refund is issued quickly, I will not file a complaint with either of the above mentioned parties.

Best Regards,

Take Paul's advise and file the necessary cases. I have done that out of 5 illegal PDL's I've heard back from 1 with a refund and the second one called twice at work and the calls have stopped. I sent all of my documentation via email, fax and certified mail. They seem to respond to a copy of the complaint verifications. I had one lender call me and I refused to talk to them over the phone as I want everything in writing. You need a complete paper trail.

Paul,

I finally got a response and it looks as if the letters did work! Got this today. My only concern or question is the response and foes it address the refund part of my demand.
Here ya go....

Mr. Jones,

I am writing on behalf of Cash Jar in response to your correspondence. Cash Jar strives to assist consumers with their short term cash needs and is concerned that you were disappointed with your most recent experience.

We have agreed to settle the balance owed and have marked your account ???paid in full??? as of November 8, 2010. Cash Jar is taking this action without legal obligation to do so because of our ongoing commitment to customer satisfaction and for no other reason. We hope that this action on our part will resolve your concerns.

Thank you for the opportunity to clarify this matter and address your concerns.

Sincerely,
Cash Jar

Used to work for cash jar. Demand your refund because they are illegal in all 50 states of the US. They have a office in Columbia, Tn and the other is in Belize. Demand refund everyday until it is done and contact the Attorney General in your state and the BBB. They are terrified of those 2 because they are illegal and they know it.

Lovely,

I will follow your advise. I sent another request today (my 2nd week of sending an e-mail every day)to Cashjar, and again no response. They are definitely ignoring me. I just wonder if they will ever send my refund of $135.00.... Looks like they are just going to continue to ignore me.
