I have an outstanding credit card debt that has been turned over to a law firm/collection agency. I am still attempting to negotiate with them to satisfy of the debt, but was wondering, what would happen if they were not willing to negotiate and then attempted to sue to collect the debt? More specifically, what are the laws regarding placing a lien on your main house of residence in Arizona? I am pretty sure that if they did place a lien on the property for the debt amount, they still cannot force you to sell the home in AZ, but didn't know what the specifics were as far as how long they can keep the lien on the home. I mean, what if you never sold the home and the lien was there for 20 years? Thanks to anyone with information on this.

The amount of the deb is approximately $7500
