Payday Loan in CA

Someone contacted me today from Sterling & Roberts about a payday loan from 04/2009. They claim it is for Summit Group LLC but would not provide any information for the debt nor the company. She stated that I owed $1000 and needed to pay immediately or they would serve me with papers and start garnishing my wages. Help please....She stated that the original debt was $309.04???? Can somebody help me with this please???

Do you really own this debt? I am quite sure that you don't. Ask the caller from Sterling & Roberts to send you a collection letter without which you'll be filing a case for harassment. If they do not comply to your request and continue calling and harassing you, file cases against them with the FTC, the BBB and your local police authorities.

I don't think you will get the debt validated ever. Send them a cease and desist letter which will legally stop them from contacting you to collect the debt. And file the cases against them with the authorities I have mentioned in my previous post.
