Hello,

I have 5 payday loans and have been doing some reaesrach on them, i have found out at least some are not licensed in my state. i have gotten in too deep and get pay them anymore, I am in FL, since they are not licensed in my state....what are my options.

thank you for the help. i am going to contact my bank and get this all started. The link to the letter was great. I just got in with these people and couln't pay them off. Do you what the companies usually do once you send them the letter. can they still take you to court since they are illegal here in Florida?

Thanks so much!

They won't be taking anyone to court. They're operating illegally. They wouldn't dare set foot in a courtroom. Just be sure to secure your account before you send the letter. Many of these places will try to get every penny they can out of your account once they know you're closing it. What they do? It depends. Some comply quickly. Some argue and never give in.

Do as OhioGal1says and get that account closed or at least on "deposit only" status before you send the letters. Stop payments aren't much good, as many of these companies operate under several names; if they can't get their payment under one name, they'll probably use another one. Keep us posted!

thank you for the help. I copied the letter and sent and faxed, so far 1 has complied, one keeps calling, one sent me a letter wanting to do payments over a 6 month period and showed me the contract that says they are in canada (i think) and i agree to the law in that country and the others i haven't heard from. I will keep you posted.
