I have a loan with a storefront Check N Go in IL that I have defaulted on. They told me I had until COB today to call and take care of loan. They said they would garnish my wages or take me to small claims court. What do I do now? I don't have any money to pay anything. Originally I talked to them and they told me I would have to default, let them present the checks, have them returned by the bank and then it would go to collection. Now they say they will do wage garnishment or go to small claims court.

they will give the wage assignment you signed.that is what they mean by garnishing.to get an actual garnishment they would have to take you to court and win.try and call the regional office.they might be able to work with you better than the trained monkeys at the store.btw il garnishment law is 15% of net income.meaning after all other deductions.they try to make it seem like they can take whatever they want, but for a pdl that just isn't the case.

Thanks. Would it help to write to the IL AG? I talked to the store tonight and asked where their corporate office was and was told in Ohio. I asked for an address and was told she could give me the manager's phone number, but she would tell me the same thing. She wouldn't give me the address. Do I need to revoke the wage assignment? If so, do I just send the revocation to the store I got the loan from?

when you say the managers number.does that mean the corporate,or the store manager?yes file an AG complaint asap.as far as this being a storfront.there may be a different protocol for wage assignment revocation.SHAZZERS is an ohioan, and can help with the corporate info.send her a PM and she will answer you i guarantee it.will check on the info regarding the revocation and be back soon.
