Sometimes, this is one way of insisting people to send large payments. They are not satisfied with the present payment schedule so they want to convey the message indirectly.
Since you are already under professional help, I hope Jessica knows how to deal with these people. Don't worry, she will handle the situation nicely.

Brat,
They are on my list of creditors with T & C as well. I have not had any problems with them, yet. You did the right thing (in my opinion) by reporting them once again. Also, report them to the Better Business Bureau if possible. I would also report them to Nevada's department of financial institutions because they are not licensed to loan money. I have done research and I have not found this information. You may want to check your state laws regarding this matter. Also, if you want some more information, pm me. I will let you know a little secret when it comes to dealing with these types of companies. I am dealing with a payday lender right now who has accepted a proposal amount with T & C. They knew my checking account was closed when I went into this program over a month ago. They keep trying to debit my old checking account. I do not know why because they know it's closed. It is very frustrating but I am working on another letter that I am going to send them via certified mail. I feel they are trying to debit this account to add more fees. It seems they are just wanting more money. I'm not going to allow this because it is unethical. We are trying to do the right thing by working with a debt consolidation company. I know it's frustrating but hang in there.

If they are receiving and accepting payment, there's not anything they can do except sit and whine about it. They're just trying to scare you.

You would think beings United Cash Loans is doing unlicensed business that they would behave themselves. My husband was so upset because he got called out of a meeting and in his position, that's not good to be pulled out of a meeting. All I have to say is BRING IT ON UNITED CASH LOANS, I'm ready for you.

What do they care? They've made a ton of money as it is, and they'd probably just start a new scam company under a new name..And who knows how many they operate anyway?

Yeah, bring it on is right. I think United is the same as a few others. None of them are licensed so where do they get off threatening people? It makes me sick but things will turn out okay. I feel better since I wrote my letter to my other lender.

Ok, I am so scared now, I have a loan with them too, but they said they will debit the amount from my checking account. They have already debited $90.00 for the first fee.
Is this company a scam?

They are not licensed to lend money. They have to be licensed in the state they are in which is Nevada and I have a letter from the Nevada Financial Institution that they are not licensed to lend in their state.

I am fed up with these twits, (United Cash Loans). Now they are stating that they need permission to talk to T&C. I am sick and tired of these games. I am now more than ever going further to get these jerks shut down. They have to be the most crooked people out there in the payday business. Well, except for Sonic, Rio Resources, etc. Everyone gets my point. All of us dealing with payday lenders need to band together and get them all shut down and forbidden forever.

Lynn,
They are not licensed as brat has stated, do not take any threats from them. Learn you rights and your state laws. You can check with your state's consumer protection office of department of financial institutions regarding payday lenders. Brat, also in my state they MUST be licensed in order to loan money. If not, then they are breaking my state's law. You may always want to check with your state regarding such laws, ie. department of division of financial institutions. According to the FTC, I've been told twice that the loan is considered originated in the state of the consumer. I was told once it was not so it could go either way. They do sound like Sonic with this type of BS. I had to fax permission to them, verbal, and then fax again. What's the deal when they have already accepted and cashed payment through T & C? Keep up on everything, and you will be okay. I know it's frustrating and takes a lot of time but it's for the best. I agree these places need to be shut down or even regulated better. It seems some states are cracking down and I hope more are to follow in those footsteps.

I found some interesting info about payday loans. Go to consumerfed.org. They have a 53 page report. It states in there some of the places that don't have licenses, which states don't allow loans, etc. I thought I would share the site. Can I post a link to get to this report?

I received a letter from the Division of Consumer Affairs today from my complaint filed against United cash Loans. They are going to intervene and make United Cash Loans accept the payment plan from T&C. I am very happy to get this letter. This has been a long time coming. Just thought I would share this info for anyone who is having trouble with United Cash Loans.

Wow!! That's really good news, Brat! Ultimately the bad ones lose and people having good faith win the battle. Having some involvement of your AG, you won't have any problems while paying UCL because they will come in their best behavior (at least with you). Congrats once again.
Yay! Great to know they won't be messing with you anymore! :)

Got a response from United Cash Loans through my complaint with the BBB and they state they will accept the payments, but they are in discussion to turn it over to 3rd party collections. I have filed a rebuttal and in the rebuttal I stated that I feel they are doing this because we filed complaints with state authorities about their business pratices. I will not be intimidated by a company doing illegal business and I will continue to pay them through T&C.
Are you already paying UCL through T&C? If so, UCL has no rights
Are you already paying UCL through T&C? If so, UCL has no rights to send your accounts to third party collectors. It seems they are trying to make things out of the legal lines. And brat, be careful, third party collectors give a negative view to the future lenders viewing your file. When you have been regular in your payments, why should you deal with any CA. I guess, they are just trying to take some 'revenge' from you by hurting your credit. Do not get intimidated. Stay strong and be confident! Best of luck
Yes I am paying them through T&C. I am getting so tired of deal
Yes I am paying them through T&C. I am getting so tired of dealing with the whole ordeal. Seems the harder I try, the more walls come crashing down. All the other loans are taking payment and being quiet. Never have located an address for Debt Doctor, so I am letting their payment compile at T&C and when they contact, if they do, I will demand an address and get them their money. This payday loan business is down right evil. Why is it there are people who default on purpose and are left alone, but someone who is trying to make things right, get harassed and threatened?

I guess there is some loophole in the whole system and the problem lacks attention. Unless there is a law that can check such problems, things will seem pretty tough. Keep trying brat, you know that you are not wrong. So, no one can put any false charges against you.

Hey cats!
Now that I'm no longer a collector (selling lawn conditioner now) I just want you all to shout with me "Screw all you lying money-grubbing charlatans, and screw all your imaginary ramifications! Take a long walk off a short pier you apes!"
Don't be afraid of these clowns, you don't even have to talk to them. I've seen payday loans that have gone unpaid for over a year and they're not in jail! It's all a ploy for bonus money. Screw it all! Nobody has to work with any collector if they don't want to! You have a better chance of settling with the orignal creditor, provided they're not completely f'd up, isn't that right Brat? They call you again it's because they need to soup up their weener-enhancing car on your dime and that's the ugly truth! My former manager, a collections maanger of 26 years experience, has four cars, tow of which are ego-mobiles. Pretty hyprocitical, eh?

You are so right Ari. I wish the ones we chose were on the up and up. I guess you live and learn and boy we have learned the hard way.

Oh thank you sweetheart! Now, time to have a real life!
CA's that contract with payday lenders and some credit cards will never be on the up and up. I certainly didn't feel up and up talking to people today who have lost every bit of their American dream after 9/11 and are now homeless, penniless, divorced, and drowned in debt. My heart broke for this lady today. She and her husband lived such a life of success and luxury, the 9/11 struck, their businesses went under, they separated, and now she is on the verge of being evicted from a single room apartment! It's a tragedy, she's about to be homeless and the credit card pigs are still dragging her to court. I tell you what, I can't do that job and like myself!
You don't have to talk to the collectors, doing so only encourages them to stick their nose in deeper. Let them wallow in mystery while you work productively with consolidators. You will have more control over your life.
Thank you for all your comments and helping me through the rough
Thank you for all your comments and helping me through the rough & difficult times. Hope you enjoy your new job. Now you don't have to worry about every Friday getting an ass chewing for not harassing and forcing people to pay more than they can afford.

Ari, as the evil, but sometimes necessary collections industry loses a bright light, a new an shining light burns for you. the best of luck to you and perhaps someday we will all be able to see a business world where collection can truly be a business not ripe with greed and the evils it spawns.. until then remember all that it is business and as such money rules... and as debtors you have power.. yes power you have what they want money (albiet some of us may have more than others)... so when you deal with creditors and collection agencies, negotiate/respond in a business like manner... by working for terms that work for you.
Have a good weekend everyone, be safe and do something for yourself that makes u feel good.

Ari,
Congrats on the new job, I'm so glad for you :-) Brat, I can feel your frustration. Some days I feel like just banging my head against the wall to get the same affect as dealing with these idiots. I still have the same company trying to debit my closed checking account. I have sent them a certified letter this week and also faxed it today before I left work. They just keep sending the notices, which I'm keeping copies of because they are breaking the laws in my state. It's time to start filing the complaints because they aren't listening to me. Yikes!

Thanks everybody! I'm still going to stick with you guys as an unofficial counselor. I love this forum, and I love helping people. :D
Sonic Payday out of Ontario Canada
I just recieved a phone call from my employers stating that Sonic payday is trying to garnish my wages. My human resource person state she is going to get legal advice on the garnishment, because they sent every form with a digital signature. Can they actually garnish my wages without taking me to court? I tried working things out with them intially but they want larger payments than I could handle. I did not even get any calls from their collection people. Need Advice!!!!

notify your employer that you did not agree in writing to the wage assignment and that you do not recall granting said assignment to sonic. It is good that your employer is getting legal advice as I would guess their counsel would advise them not to get involved.

Donna,
Do a search on Sonic payday in the forums and you will find some useful information to help you. A lot of us have dealt with this company before, me included. They cannot garnish your wages via digital signature alone. It has to be signed in person. Keep in contact with your payroll department, you should be fine there. Send a letter via certified mail to Sonic revoking the wage assignment. Keep everything documented. If you have further questions, register yourself with the forum. Feel free to pm me as I am dealing with Sonic myself right now.
