What is a person indebt greatest problem?

Is it just the credit card company or is it the bottom feeders (Debt collection agencies).
The reason I ask this question is because the debt collectors are the ones who mess your credit up by reporting you to the credit bureaus and use unethical tactics to make your credit report bad.
you dont pay a bill, and it is reported to the credit bureaus...

I worked in debt settlement for years before Bank of America paid off the BBB and the FTC to come after the industry and I got laid off. The biggest problem for debtors is the phone calls. Period. In-house. Outside. Legal loan. Illegal loan. It didn't matter. I worked with thousands of people over five years and I can count the ones that genuinely wanted to pay off their loans on my fingers and toes. But if a collector called or sent and e-mail - whether it was a professional or some bottom-feeder - my clients ALL called screaming about "harassment" and demanding a send out a hit squad to stop the calls. At the end of the day, most debtors that default simply can't pay (no moral judgment. Just recognizing that most people in that position have financial problems that aren't solved just by not paying Citibank . . .) and just want to be left alone. And they hire the debt settlement company (or at least they did, till Obama got involved) that promises to make the calls stop. But when it comes to actually saving money and paying any settlements. That was a very tiny minority.

All debt collection agencies are not bottom feeders. They won't report to credit bureaus as long as you are paying your bills on time. As the HOF member has posted, 'how is this unethical?'.

Welcome to the forums.
I'll take a stab at answering this: "What is your biggest problem with getting out of debt.
Is it just the credit card company or is it the bottom feeders "
It's neither.
I suggest with sincerity that you look in any mirror and you'll see the problem.
It's you!
(I did the same thing)
Until you take ownership of that debt and how it was incurred then you are doomed.
Once you take ownership, then you can attack it and be set free.
It's not an easy path.
But with help from this great website, you can succeed!
I did it and you can too!

Since, a debtor is already under the stress of debt, he feels as if he is being cheated by the credit card companies and everyone else.
