I owed Doubleday but they had not credited me with returned books. When I got the call(s) from Takhar Group, they referred me to a Doubleday site for disputes. I ended up getting the debt reduced to $36.74 with a $37.00 credit towards future purchases. Doubleday told me to pay them directly, as did a rep. of Takhar when I told her we had resolved the problem. I sent the check, it did not clear for 3 months, so I wrote a new one. The Takhar Group called me a liar that I ever sent the check, told me no one in their office would tell me to pay Doubleday directly and amazingly did not have records of how many times I returned their phone calls (they said I was a deadbeat who didn't return calls). I was hung up on, berated and belittled. My replacement check to Doubleday has now cleared my bank, and I am still receiving on average 2-4 phone calls a day from Takhar Group. They are relentless for $36.74!
I am also a minister and told them I do not lie, and to call me Reverend Clasby, and they continued to call me Linda with a sneer in their voice. Who can they be reported to?????

Takhar Group is a notorious debt collection company. If they get hold of any account, then they start to harass the customer by using all illegal steps to collect that debt. They called you a liar, but the truth is they are liars.
