Nelly,
I am beside myself with this company First IRS Legal Department. They call my work threatening to have me arrested. They call all 9 office lines including my manager who is the director of operations. They are very unprofessional when they call, and the last few times have actually yelled at my manager that she was required by law to get me on the phone. They have threatened sending an arrest warrent to the District Attorney's office. etc. etc. I know this is a civil suit, not a criminal case, they can't possibly arrest me for a debt. They said that I had written a bad check and had demanded information about the status of my bank account. The worst part is, I don't EVER remember a payday loan from "Good Time Cash." I looked throughout my records for my bank account and I don't see the amount they had ever deposited? I have requested that they stop calling the office, as well as my manager, however they still call. We have requested a written notice, however we have yet to receive one. I need some serious help with these guys... If I owe someone money, I would be happy to arrange payments... however, I am not going to be bullied into paying a debt that I do not owe. I am very leary about providing information to debt collectors because recently (about a month ago) I made a settlement and the first payment for a debt I KNEW I had. Turned out that some company received my debt information, called me about it, so of course I jumped for a chance to settle... Turns out that they have not even tried for the additional payments, and I have received no other phone calls from their "Firm". There are too many scam artists now days to know who is really legitimate?
