anyone heard of them? Got a very strange call from them about restraining orders and fraud saying I owed money to a bank

Have you ever had a payday loan? It sounds like one of the many scum-sucking collection agencies out there trying to collect on an illegal payday loan. Same threats. And they're calling your family members, which likely would've been used as references. Even on paid loans, these people seem to surface a few years later...trying to scare people into giving them more money.

I received a message today with the same 813 # saying I needed to contact my lawyer and there has been a complaint filed against me. I have to appear in court and there putting a restraining order against me!! Name left was Heather Howard, special investigator!

Anyone received a call from 211-111-9530? An individual with no English skills and possible mid-east accent called me at work claiming to be Mark Cooper with the Knight Law Firm out of Miami. All I allowed him to get in was his question of did I know about the law suit against me. I asked for a mailing address so my lawyer could contact them. He gave me a phone number instead but I got only the first six digits. When I told him I would be calling the FBI as soon as we were finished he hung up.

There is a Knight Law Firm in Coral Gables but they do not do conusmer representations. The 211 number rings back to some form of call center but does not give a name when the automated attendant picks up.

Another scam!?!

I just got the same call again-got one yesterday too. They have called numerous times but before it was Central Legal Alliance-either way-major fraud-scam that originates from Singapore-yes they get ur name from a "payday loan application" doesnt even have to be that u took out a loan. DO NOTHING-they will ask to "settle" out of court for this supposed "debt" u owe. and they hjave also called my parents too and left the same "threatening" messages about being arrested with in 24 hours. ITS BOGGUS(?SP)!

Central Legal Network - 1-813-863-1961
My EX mother-in-law got a call from these people saying they had their number as a contact number, using my last name from my first marriage over 10 years ago. A woman saying it was in regards to a claim filed against me. I just Googled the number and apparently there are ALOT of people getting these bogus calls. Time to block that number I suppose.

I received the same call Verbatim. It's a scam and I paid it no mind. A voice mail is not legal notification and not acceptable in any court as legal notice of pending court action. They are trying to fish in a sucker with the urgency and threat of their message. The caller is always a "special investigator". Investigator of what and what company. They fail to identify their company and if you call back it appears to be an electronic boiler room routed thru voice mails and call backs.
DO NOT BE SCAMMED BY THESE SHYSTERS!! Tell them you're reporting them to the phone company authorities, FCC and government regulatory agencies.

This depends you see. If your original creditor (OC) had charged off an account to them and they are contacting you for the payments, then you cannot term them as a scam. However, if this is not the case, then they can be considered as a scam. You should ask them to validate your debt. If they cannot validate your debt, then you you can ask them to not contact you any more.

I got the call yesterday I have already emailed the attorney general office, and filed a complaint with the FTC. Then went straight to ripoff report. This is crazy! How can people do this to others? They are in violation of collection laws even if they are legit. I am going to try and get their address out of them today then take it to my lawyer. I think if we could get every body together we would have a great lawsuit. That is if they are a real business at all.

Don't worry about a company called "Central Legal Network". They are NOT a law firm and have no license or certifications to be calling themselves "investigators". They are using scare tactics to get you to call them back so they can collect for their creditors. They are simply a collection company and NOTHING ELSE. In time, I'm sure (if not already) they will end up with lawsuits for false representation posing themselves as a law firm and / or legal investigation entity. If they contact you, you are better off finding out which creditor they represent and call the creditor direct. Hope this helps......

This is all a scare tactic saying that they are representing a company called money and more inc. And that they have been trying to find me, that i owe money on a payday loan done over the internet. When in fact the attorney generals office here where i live had been investigating them for a while. In which they mailed me a letter stating what money and more inc. Was doing was in fact illegal here in the state of wv, and fees they were charging to consumers here in wv were well in excess of maxium rates allowed in our state. Was threatened saying i owed money to this money and more when in fact they are no longer in business. Contact your local consumer protection agency. Asap

This central legal network can't do a thing to you. If you're going to call them, you may as well have a good time harassing them about contacting you because they're scamming and using illegal tactics to try to scare you.

I accidentally signed up for a payday loan back in 2008. The money was sent to me and I had someone from the loan company immediately take it back out of my account. I have the bank statements to prove it.

So this central legal network fraudulent company called my dad a couple days ago and left a message. Some woman said she is a private investigator and that I was subpoenaed for a case involving a restraining order against me. So I called back and she's like, "Were you served a subpoena at such and such address?" (An address I lived at in 2008 when I accidentally got the loan) I was like NO. She was like well, you're being subpoened for..blah, blah, blah and fraudulent intent. OK, yeah right. Then further into the conversation she flubbed up her words and said you're going to be subpoened and I was like, "You said I was already subpoened!" She's like "Well I meant the information about it was sent to you." I don't know much about legal stuff, but this apparently caught her off guard. I have the bank statements to prove these people have nothing on me.

So I tried calling them back a couple times today, trying to get more information to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. They would just get rude and not give me any addresses. One guy was like, "Well we're pursuing you at your place of employment and you need to talk with our legal services to keep your coworkers from from finding these things out about you." I'm a full time student and don't have a job LOL! Then they say, "See you in court or good luck in court" before they hang up on you.

I'm also considering filing a lawsuit against them for violations of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_Debt_Collection_Practices_Act I'm tired of seeing these predatory scammers try to take advantage of myself and others.

My Mother is so very upset and her heart # out and stop harrassing her...she hung up on me again.
