Mediical bills

I have a 26 year old son with about $16,000 is medical bills from pain clinics. He has no job or health insurance. Any suggestions on how to deal with the collection agencies ? Thank you !
What were his agreements when he first applied to these provider
What were his agreements when he first applied to these providers for treatment? Did he disclose to them that he had no insurance or job? Whom did he list as the person who would be responsible for the debts? It might be the courteous thing to contact the providers directly since they did give him very valuable services. Has he tried talking to them and explaining the situation? Maybe they have some helpful suggestions for possible sources of help he is unaware of if not for these services then for future treatment. What assets and financial resources does your son have?
