i got a payday loan from cashnetusa.com over 3 years ago for 200.00. My bank account got hacked and was overdrafted so when cash net usa went to take the money out it wasnt available. An investigator called me today and said if i didnt pay that he would have someone in my county come after me and i could be arrested. what should i do? Can they really do that?

No, you cannot be arrest and put in jail for a default on a payday loan. If you could, then half the people on this Forum would be in jail. I had a payday loan with cashnetusa and they were very easy to work with. Call them directly and they will set up a payment plan with you.

I think someone from Cashnet USA gave you the call. They just wanted to scare you so that you pay them off. And what they said is totally wrong. They can't do that. But, you need to pay them off as they are backed by banks and are legal in most states.

You need to file a complaint with the FTC immediately. You can not go to jail for owing a debt.
