My son owes money for medical bils that were turned over to colection we sent 5 postdated checks of 100.00 each and would have sent 5more each time until the debt was paid. The creditor refused payments and sent back the checks ,i was just wondering if this can be done?

Soaplady has a good question. They apparently can do it. It seems stupid on their part. I guess it poses a book keeping problem. In most states a post dated check is a promissory note that would guarantee them payment.

You should NEVER be sending post dated checks to a creditor, only a collection agency. You have no protection under the law with a creditor.
