debt to landlord

We are being sued by a landlord in Indiana over a retail property that we had to walk away from when my Husband lost his job. We are now in Texas. What will happen when they win the judgement? We don't have a leg to stand on excpet to plead for mercy. My husband has a new job, but it would never be enough to pay the 400K they are asking for.

Are they suing you in Indiana or Texas? SInce you now reside in TX, they must sue you there.
Luckily, Texas is a non garnishment state.
Retail property...obvious a business, but what type? LLC? Did you personally guarantee the rent?
