I sent a debt validation letter to a CA after receiving a request for payment on a debt on a credit card and they in reply sent a request for more information. Such as: Paid in full or account settled information; copy of a police report on Fraud or identity theft and a copy of the contract or detailed explanation of disputed charges. I have never owned a credit card and knew nothing about this until this CA contacted me. How do I address this when I have no information and know nothing about this?
Write back disputing the validity of the debt stating you never
Write back disputing the validity of the debt stating you never had that card and unless they have a signed contract with your signature on it, consider the letter a cease and desist.
