Laurence Hecker, AGAIN!

Hey people. Just to start things off my mom got a call from these Hecker people about a bad debt (co signed with me dad pre-divorce) from 6 years ago. I'm only 16 but they felt like dragging me into anyways. They somehow found out I just got a job and since my mom doesn't have one they say they're going to garnish my wages unless we come up with a lump sum of $17,000. They even wanted me to ask friends and family members if we could borrow the amount from them. Lots of things wrong with this picture. First I'm not 18 so legally they can't do anything to me, right? Second they need a judgement to garnish wages, I think? Is it illegal for them to tell me to ask other people for money that I'm not even involved with (eg: for my mom's debt.) ? I'm sincerely confused but from what I've been able to find, this is a scam. Thoughts?
