I have 4 payday loans with Loan Point Usa $600, Cash Direct Express $500, Sure Advance $400 and Advantage Cash Services for $325. They were all obtained online. It doesn't appear these loans are legal in Texas, is that correct?

I called Loan Point and they tried to give me the "they are licensed in UT and don't have to be licensed in Tx spiel. I plan to follow complaints with the AG, OCCC, and FTC. Is there anyone else I should file comnplaints with?

Also Loan Point I have padi back over $1000, Cash Direct $528, Sure Advance $424 and Advantage $300.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sure Advance just sent me a PIF letter...see my thread for the story. Cash Direct Express sent me to collections, and I am sending them a DV letter and CC'n them on the letter to my AG. I suspect they will PIF letter me as well once that is put in motion. I would not worry about either of the ones I speak of, as it looks like you overpaid on both. The other ones I can't speak on. I am also not aware of Utah law, but there is a resource thread at the top of the forum that will help. It did for me!

Be sure for those lenders that you have over paid that you demand a refund and paid in full letter. I sent copies of all complaints I filed to my illegal lenders and two them sent me a refund with a paid in full immediately. One I've not heard from since and the other I owe $22.00 but they refuse to send me a current mailing address. Follow the advise of this forum and you will be fine. Be sure to revoke any and all wage assignments as well.

None of your lenders are licensed in the state of TX. You need to close your account and ask for a refund of the amount you've paid over the principal balance in your illegal lender letters. Also revoke ACH permission and wage assignments.

You have the right list of agencies there to file your complaints. I would take it one step further. For those that ARE legal in other states, I would file complaints with the BBB in their state. Perhaps it will save even 1 person from making the same mistakes so many of us have :)
