Crap One Not Budging

Hi,
I posted a few weeks back about settling with Capital One. Here are the basics:
1. I haven't made a payment in over 2 years.
2. The original balance was $1500.
3. The current balance is $3266.
I have tried to call and negotiate but haven't made any progress. I have been calling and offering $1700. Every time, I get told that the lowest they will accept is $2800. I haven't made any progress and get the same response, no matter who I talk to. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you are not doing something wrong. Some creditors just won't play ball.
You can either wait it out, tell them you are going to file for bankruptcy - and you can give them $320 (a lowball offer), or go to a bankruptcy attorney to see if they can help settle the debt.
Good luck.

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!
I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I feel that you should get professional help. You can get help from debt relief companies in this regard. The reason is, debt counselors can negotiate with collection agencies in a much better way.
