I live in the state of Texas, and recently I received a call at home & at my job. From someone with 1st IRS. Stating that criminal charges will be filed against me with my county, if I don't pay! For one the information he gave me in regards to the loan I do not remember. I was needing to know if charges can be placed on me for any online payday loan. & if So what can I do. Is this just a scare tactic, or is this possible in the state of Texas. Please Help!!! I also need to know if there are legitimate Payday Loan Consolidation help out there and where can I get the information.

Shanna: I started out with 8 internet loans and 2 storefronts loans, I checked into a debt consolidation company and they wanted $1,600 in fees alone. I decided to do it myself. I am now done to 1 internet and 2 storefronts. Through the great advice of this forum, you can do it yourself and save yourself a lot of money. You stated you live in Texas. What are the names of your payday lenders, how much did you originally borrow and how much have you paid back. Keep in mind that if a payday lender is not licensed to do business your State, then you only morally owe them the principal balance (no interest/fees).
