Well... I'm not sure whether or not the payday lender can contact your employer. This payday lender may be violating federal as well as state law by calling or e-mailing your employer. Have a word with a local attorney and check out his opinion in this matter.

Keep in mind that if a payday lender is not licensed to do business in your State, then you are only morally obligated to pay back the principal balance (no interest/fees). Send them a CD letter. You can find samples of them on this forum. Also, if they call your employer and you answer the phone, tell them you are not allow to receive personal calls at work and hang up on them. You may want to speak to your employer and tell them you have been a victim of a scam and that they might be receiving phones calls but to ignore them.
