Do You Ever Feel Like A Broken Record?

Actually, I feel sorry for those people because they were probably intimidated or scared. Not knowing their rights and receiving threats, they are scammed into taking action, sometimes to their detriment. I, myself, "trusted" a collection agency and gave them my bank account number because I negotiated an awesome settlement, only to have my bank account accessed while on vacation, leaving me with no money. And that's after being on this website for a while. (I now have a lawsuit pending against that creditor).

Then you get the banks that won't cooperate in securing your bank account...... The whole thing become overwhelming.

But I can see your point and your need to vent as you are always on here giving advice which is time-consuming.

Well, thanks for the reality check, and you are right, I definitely have empathy for these people.

Yes. I feel that way a lot, actually. When I came to this forum needing help, I actually took the time to read the sticky that said "read this before posting" (or something like that) and Shazz's "how to deal with illegal lenders" sticky. Many don't and it can be annoying but, what can we do, right? :)

But, I also understand where they're coming from because I was there. It's a lot of work to close your accounts and make all these changes, to send letters, to field phone calls, and all of the other work that goes into getting rid of these PDLs. Settling accounts on your own is a lot of work as well. Sometimes you feel like giving up or hiring someone else to do the work for you because it becomes tiring and or overwhelming. I get it.

I think the thing that gets to me most though is when people post bad advice. They don't do their research and give false info which we then have to swoop in and correct.

I'm just glad we're able to help these people. I'm happy to help anyone deal with these PDL criminals and collectors who don't follow the FDCPA.

This is very true, but again, how satisfying is it when someone listens, takes our advice and is helped? For all of the people who won't, that makes the people who will that more precious...
