I received a call from Lieberman and Ross saying I owed for a payday loan to Cash Central. they told me that if I didn't commit to a payment plan by Monday, a process server would show up at my work or home. the loan was from 2008. The refused to send me any information regarding the debt. I live in CA and am a little concerned.

did your PM explain that this bottomfeeding scuzz is just that, and to treat everything that comes out of their pie holes as a lie,and against the law.if not i guess i just said it.also to file a police report, and AG,AND FTC complaints against said bottomfeeding scuzz.then ignore them as again bottomfeeding scuzz.

I really don't think this is a valid collection firm, for if they were they wouldn't be making threats they can't follow through with. Have you ever received a letter of collection via the mail from this so called collection firm? They are required by federal law (FDCPA) to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) via the mail within 5 days of their first initial contact with you. I would never admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone, never. You just never know who you are talking to, it could be ANYone, heck,, it could even be me trying to get your debit card number, be careful!

Thank you for your responses. I haven't received any letter from them but I am going to ask that they send one. If this debt hasn't been paid, I will pay what I owe, but not if these guys are threatening without giving me any info.

Never pay for something unless you have it in writing, the first step of course is that they send you a letter of collection through the mail, they are required to do that by the federal law, otherwise, like I said, it could be anyone on the other end of the phone, that's how people end up getting their identity stolen, you have to protect yourself.

okay just googled that number and all i got was a slew of complaints like yours.as shazzers stated a scam collector.use that number to file a police report as the idiot broke the law themselves.then also use the number and name of this bottomfeeder to file AG,AND FTC complaints.then ignore them.also advise anyone called by them looking asking for you to file police reports as well.above all else know this is a bottomfeeding scam that should be reported, not paid.

They are a bottom feeder collection firm, most likely the debt they are trying to collect is an illegal payday loan you may have obtained on the Internet?

First of all, they have violated the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) by calling your neighbor and discussing this with them. So you should file a complaint against them with the FTC and your state attorney general immediately! They could be subject to a fine for not complying with the law, and I encourage you to file complaints PLEASE!

Hey - I just saw that they are calling on Cash Central loans. I was originally contacted by CAB Asset Management in Maryland. I wrote them (certified return receipt which I got the green card back on). Asking for documentation and validation of the debt. Never hear from them. Now I am getting calls from Wiseman and Ross and Assoc who are supposidely a subsidiary of LeibermanHunt and Assoc. She Ms. Novak, said that I was a subject of a compalint filed in Salt Lake County and gave me a case number which is not a court case number her in this county the city or the town I live in. I beleive that this is a junk debt collection company as well. I even have proof that I paid the loan.
