Thank you for your help

Wizeenough, CRAs takes some time to update your file when there has been a change in the records. You might be able to view the change within 30 days or else you will have to dispute with them.
If the update is not shown, you will have to write a letter to them to do the needful. The copy will be sent to your mailing address free of cost.

thats a good question, i recently had 2 negative items taken off. because they werent mine. i assume it just gets better automatically since the companies do a 30-90 day cycle where they check your credit again?! anyone know more?

Credit bureaus often make data errors because of the large number of consumers' accounts they have in their system. If an item is shown inaccurately in the file, it is necessary to dispute immediately and see its effect within a reasonable period. Keeping a follow up on this is also helpful.

evilryu530---as I have found (and I see that you have too!), it is alot of hard work and you have to really be dedicated to get the results you are after. And even then, you might not get what you want...but I'm finding that it takes more than disputing once or twice to get anyone to listen! shirley

I currently have a law firm that works on my behalf to get deletions of accounts off of my credit report. I can definitely say that it works.
I've been with the company since May 05' and when I began my credit scores were terrible after bankrutpcy. After using them I checked my scores in September 05' and January 06', in these four months my credit scores went up 100 points. Not one, but all three. I have had over 70% of the negative items deleted off of my credit report since using them.
So, the answer to your question is yes, your scores do go up. But, it also depends on the accounts that are being taken off.
Anyone that may want the information for the law firm, send me a message because I will have to give you my personal information for you to get the rate I have.
Good Luck!! :D

Poohbear24, it's your regular payments and removal of incorrect items from your credit report that gave a rise to your credit scores. You could have done this repair yourself also. Accurate negative information can never be removed from the CR before the seven years as per the FCRA laws. Only the federal authorities have the legal rights for it.
David, This is not meant in any wrong way to you. But, I am
David,
This is not meant in any wrong way to you. But, I am explaining of my experiences and time and time again you all keep TELLING me that it's not the truth. You can't TELL me that what I've done is a result of something else because you are indeed WRONG!!!
Now, I haven't paid none of these creditors off. Not one red cent. What I said was that I have a law firm, whom I pay each month that disputes items for me. They are not paying my creditors for me. So the service that they provide me with is something that I do not feel like doing on my own, which is the dispute process. I can, but it's a long process and if somebody can do it for me and save time, then so be it. I'm not obligated to pay those creditors because I've already been discharged in bankruptcy.
So please, the next time I offer my experiences, do not come and tell me I'm wrong. I know what each law says because I've been given legal advice on it. But I'm also telling you what I'm experiencing. So, if the situation isn't the same for you, then you can't truly discount it. I am sharing what works and has worked for me, and this is truth!

Neither I meant to offend you nor did I ever tell you that you were WRONG. I was saying things that happen generally by law but there are exceptions like you are sharing this particular experience you had. You can continue with what you have faced and I will stand by my words that are mentioned in law.(not pointing to you) Chill!!

Why should I pay someone else when I can do it my self?
You're right David. If you walk along the path paved by law, we will have laws to stand by us. It's safe to deal the matter legally.

LOL...I am very chill. These are just words on a page without the chance of verbal expression. As to you and Stanley, what I am doing is legal. Stanley you pay someone everyday to do something for you that you can do yourself if you would take the time to do so. That's how business survives, providing a service. If you take the time to do everything that you can do yourself, I doubt you would have enough time in the day to do so.
So for me it comes down to the lesser of two evils. I don't want to spend the time disputing, so I pay my law firm to do so. I do this so that I can have more time to educate myself and do the things necessary to ensure a sound financial future.
Shilling now there's a way to judge someone and something you know nothing about. Nothing that I do or have done is deceitful or against the law for that matter.

I do a lot of work everyday; I believe self help is the best help. That is because I like DIY and Ranking Chart section of this site most :D

I do not doubt that you work very hard. Or anyone else on here for that matter. But, I was more referring to your statement that why pay someone for something you can do yourself.
My point in that is you do it everday. Everytime you go out to eat, through a drive-thru, get your hair cut, get your oil changed...and the list goes on. You couldn't possibly do all of the "things" that you can do yourself, so you pay someone else for those services. That's all I am doing.

Oh, I was speaking of only those stuff that I can do myself :D

Hmm..semantics. I can cook, but I do like to eat out and pay someone to cook when I don't feel like doing so. There's that point.
Overall, I have had success with deletions reflecting in my credit score.
