I disputed something with one of the credit reporting agencies. The response I received from one of them was not my desired response (I wanted them to validate an account). They told me if I had any further problems, to contact the collection agency (with whom I was having the problem ). I did, my question to you is, is the collection agency bound by the 30 day rule to respond or remove?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Wizeenough! I am in the same boat as you. collection agencies haven't validated, yet bureau says they're mine---I was wondering the same thing, I thought if collection agency couldn't validate, it had to be removed. Right now, I am having to write more letters. I am disputing with the credit bureaus AGAIN because obviously collection agencies/original creditors are proving to credit bureaus that the debts are mine, but they're not proving them to me when I ask for validation. I am also complaining to the FTC, BBB and State Attorney General over all of this. I am told that it is a violation for them not to validate to me but to the credit bureaus. I'm in for a long journey but its already been a years worth of hard work and letter writing...at this point, I have no option but to take it to the 'next' level. I've come this far already. If I don't, then all my past work has been for nothing. hope I have helped.

Yes you have. I have been doing it for about 3 months and 30 certified return-receipts. I guess within a set time period (of my own) I will contact the above mentioned agencies as you have to get some kind of response.

Thank you
