I have taken the following steps to get myself out of this cycle. I have closed down my checking account and opened a new one. I have sent letters to my illegal lenders, revoking their ability to process ACH transactions and any wage assignments. With what I am saving on the interest on my illegal loans, I can pay off my legal ones in full when they come due. Although I know this is the right step, I still am very nervous about what these illegal lenders are going to try and pull.
Does anyone have advice for how to handle their collection calls?

First, you are on the right track by closing down your checking account and opening a new one, and sending letters. When I started my journey, I had 8 internet payday loans and 2 storefronts. I now have 1 internet loan and 2 storefronts. The internet loan will be paid off Jan. 15. The advice on this forum has been great! I started my journey in July 2010. At first, I got a ton of telephone calls threatening everything from jail time to suing me and taking my home. I filed complaints with the Attorney General's Office in my State and sent each illegal lender a copy of the complaint. Now, I get maybe 1 or 2 calls a week and I just ignore them.

Basically inform them that you need an address to send any balance of the principle owed and baring that, tell them to go climb a tree.
That's the short version. Someone smarter than I will elaborate. But seriously...the illegal lenders you really don't have too much to worry about, just be prepared to be annoyed for awhile with calls and emails.

They will call and harass you if you let them, don't speak to them on the phone, give them no one to argue with, that's what they want, someone to argue with and try to intimidate. Just hang up, the less you talk to them, the sooner they will give up. Only communicate with them via email. Hang in there and don't let them try to convince you they are legal.

Ok, So I received my first communication from MMG Holding, they say they have sent my account to outside collections and it is no longer with their company. I never received written notice from MMG about this loan. All communcation was done over the phone. When the outside collection company calls, how do I get them to prove I owe any money.

I wouldn't trust anything they say, they either sold it to a bottom feeder illegal collection agency, or will call you directly from their office pretending to be an outside collection agency. Either way, as Paul stated above, per federal law you are entitled to written documentation. Per the FDCPA, a third party collector is required to send a dunning letter (letter of collection) via the mail within 5 days of their first initial contact.
Do not discuss this debt with anyone over the telephone, and never admit to owing a debt to a voice on the phone, never.

Follow paulmergel and Shazzers' (as always) excellent advice; if they call, don't admit to owing over the phone and tell them to they need to send you something in writing (I'm betting you'll never get anything). They will use all kinds of semi-legal sounding jargon, all types of threats, but don't let them scare you. And if you have a question about anything they tell you, this is the place to ask. (we've all been there)

I have followed the advise of the experts on here and it lead me out of PDL hell, honestly. One of my loans was with Eastside Lender who I over paid by $950, last week I got a ful refund for $950 by following the advise. I took control of the situation and was the agressor with them, IF YOU HAVE PAID BACK THE PRINCIPLE TO AN ILLEAGE LENDER YOU DO NOT OWE THEM ANY MORE MONEY. iN FACT YOU SHOULD FIGHT FOR A REFUND. HERE'S WHAT I DID.....I HOPE IT HELPS.
The only letter I used was the Authorization Revocation template that Shazzers has posted. I put all the detail of all my payments to them on there. I must have email that letter over 50 times to them, I would flood their mailbox every single day. I also filed complaints with the BBB of MO and Delaware. The MO Attorney General Office, The FTC, The Commissioner of Banking of Delaware. I sent them copies of the confirmation screens on the agencies websites after filing the complaints. I also found on the internet several articles where Eastside was involved in class action law suits and had to pay out millions. I sent copies of those.
I really believe the key is this....1. You have to file the complaints, not just threaten to do it because until they get a letter from the office you filed it with they dont really take it serious. Also, when the BBB gets their first response it will be the typical response that they did nothing illegal. You then HAVE TO DECLINE THE RESPONSE on the BBB website. 2. You have to keep sending emails to them, repeatedly everyday and include any communication you are getting from the offices you filed with.
I hope this helps. I will be more than happy to send you a copy of the letters and some emails I sent if you want to give me your email address. GOOD LUCK!!!

Ok, so I have heard back from some of my PDLs. MMG sent me an email stating that they have turned my account over to collections. I received an email matt@OMS90.com stating that they have sent my account to National Credit Adjustors. That company isn't even licensed in Oregon, so I'm not afraid. But Stewart at Arrowhead is continually sending me emails, threatening to send me to collections, if I don't make arrangements to settle. He is claiming that his Delaware license gives him the ability to loan in all 52 states (I don???t know when we added 2 states). I emailed him back telling him that the Attorney General office of Oregon told me that they would try to make that claim and not to believe it. I also told him if he wanted to settle, he could send me back all the illegal fees that he has charged me.

No worries, let them turn it over, there are laws to protect you from debt collection that are in place, you just need to exercise them.

52 states? Seriously? Well that should clue you in right there. Sheesh! Just stand your ground with this Eric guy. He's going to do his best to bully you into giving him your money. Don't fall for his BS.
