Hi, I have several PDL and I just recently had to close my account because of excessive fees. All I was ever able to pay were the interest fee. I have pdl's with the following:

Paydayone owe $600, paid over that
ezpayday cash $250- paid well over
loanshop: $300, also paid well over that
sure advance:$400 also paid well over
mypaydayloan $400 paid over
ameriloan $300 paid over
mycashnow $500- also paid over
money2advance:$ 500 also paid over
cashnetusa $400 also paid over

its ALOT, I know, but the fee's were killing me.. Are these internet based lenders legal in Texas?? Please help!

Thanks so much. As far as them being illegal, exactly what does that mean? I have every intention of repaying them, but the fee's were killing me, so I had to close my account and then try and talk with each of them.

What, if anything can the illegal lenders do to me?? Has anyone dealt with these people before?? Have they worked with anyone before?

I understand that you want to pay them, but they do not have the required licensing to issue loans, therefore they are not entitled to collect fees and interest. They can't sue you and they can't really do anything to collect any of these loans. All you owe them is the amount you borrowed, less any payments you have already made. Based on what you have posted, the illegal/unlicensed lenders are paid off.

Read the link I gave you above about how to deal with illegal lenders, they are nothing more than criminals and have scammed thousands of people, please file complaints against them with the FTC and your state attorney general, if you really want to know the type of criminals you are dealing with read the link below, seriously, these people are causing a lot of heartache.

I recieved an email from MYPAYDAYLOAN stated that I was reported to Contribution, a service of SCAN. I have no idea what that means.. do you know? I sent them the letter I got from this site, so maybe I will have a positive response. I'm glad I closed my account, I'm able to breathe alot better! All of my pay was going to fee's. I hope I can resolve all of this soon.

They also sent me an email stating that I "made myself avail to Costa Rican law" The alos state that this wasn't a loan. It was engaged in a check advance?? I'm really confused about this one!

Yeah sure you are. lol It's BS! You aren't located in Costa Rica, this is how I would reply:
Please note I am not a resident of Costa Rica, have never prescribed to be a resident Costa Rica and have no Costa Rica presence, as such am not subject to the Costa Rican laws you detail.

Bribaud........Listen to Shazzers and follow all the information you are being pointed to.
IF A RDL IS NOT LICENSED IN YOUR STATE...THEY ARE ILLEGAL. YOU ONLY OWE THE PRINCIPLE TO THEM....If you have overpaid you need to close your account and file the complaints with the BBB, FTC and AG. Take control of the situation and file the complaints. I will tell you from experience.........they will not take any notice of you just threating to file the complaints they will only take notice WHEN AND IF they are notified by the agencies you have filed the compalints with.

where exactly do I complain?? Thank you for your help. Hopefully I can get them off my back and move on to the next one. So far, they are the only ones that are calling every 5 minutes.

These illegal lenders will call you and threaten you with everything from putting you in jail to taking away your first born, just remember, they are only threats, do not listen to them, in fact, don't even talk to them on the phone, only communicate with them via email, period. If they call, hang up or don't answer it at all, there is no reason to put yourself through the unnecessary stress of listening to their threats.

The only lender you should be dealing with right now is paydayone, make payment arrangements with them and forget about the other ones for now, get your finances in order, take a breather, then you can plan a course of action with the illegal ones. Read my thread on how to deal with illegal lenders and you will be fine. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders.

My account is closed!!! I'm just so tired of dealing with all of this. Its VERY stressful and embarrassing to say the least. I have been paying these loans for almost a year and nothing has went towards the actually loan. I had no choice but to close my account because of all the fees that came with them. I hope this will be behind me soon.

I understand how you feel, that's why I told you to take a break from it for awhile, focus on paying off paydayone, you can tackle the illegal ones at a later time, they can't sue you, and TX is a non garnishment state anyways, so take a break
