I have been sucked into this whole payday loan fiasco as well. A few years ago I lost a high paying job due to an illness my daughter had and took a job that paid a lot less as it was the onl. My credit has been completely destroyed due to this and I began taking out payday loans to supplement my income. I know this was very stupid.
I have 2 small children am ending up without even any money left to take care of them. What are my options as far as dealing with this? I have not defaulted, but I need to take care of my of my children. I am scared about what to expect! I pretty much have lost everything already. Is my best option to file for bankruptcy? I don't even know how to start the process of dealing with these people.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, here goes

NLS Cash Advance $300
East Side Lenders $750
United Cash Loans $300
Loan by Phone $200
Speedy Cash $500
Loan Shack of MO $300
Your Fast Payday $200
Purpose Cash Advance $330
Cash Net USA $350
My Cash Now $350

I am so embarassed by the amount I have borrowed. Is it possible to consolidate them? I really need to get my life back on track here and have no idea how to begin.

Illegal Lenders: NLS Cash Advance, East Side Lenders, United Cash Loans, Your Fast Payday, and My Cash Now Legal Lenders: Loan by Phone, Speedy Cash, Loan Shack of MO, Purpose Cash Advance, and CashnetUSA ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You need to deal with your unlicensed lenders first. Make sure you close your checking account (and that it can't be reopened by a rouge ACH payment; speak with your bank manager). Here is the thread on how to deal with your unlicensed lenders: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/illegal-pdl-dealings.html Remember you only owe them principal borrowed and any "interest" paid counts as principal payments. As far as the licensed lenders, you have to work out payment arrangements with them. Some might offer a extended payment plan if you are having a hard time paying them back, but you might have to ask (they won't offer it until you ask) and you must ask before default and before your loan is due. I know Loan by Phone, Speedy Cash, and CashnetUSA do offer the extended payment plan as they are members of the CFSA, but you must ask before your payment is due and before you default. These companies usually stop charging interest and split the principal into three equal payments, one to be paid every future payday. The other two legal lenders, you will have to ask/negotiate with yourself.
