-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

As far as I know, you won't be arrested or charged with a crime just because you closed your bank account. However, if you've taken out payday loans, and if payday lending is legal in your state, then you're liable to pay them off. In my opinion, you should contact a local debt relief company and check out if they can help you in payday loan consolidation. If you can consolidate the payday loans, it will be easier for you to pay off the payday loans.
