I received a call at home this evening from Peachtree Law center. They initially asked for my wife, I said she was unavailable and asked to take a message. At this point they said they were trying to reach me. They said they were calling in reference to a PD loan from 2 years ago (that I believed to be long since paid off) and that I needed to make arrangements with them to prevent potential legal action. I explained to "Courtney" that the amounts she was stating didn't match anything and that I believed it to be paid off. I told her I would need to research it and call her back. I did call back and she handed me off to a "manager" named "Mr. Rogers". Mr. Rogers told me that if I didn't agree to pay the $730 right then, I would immediately be assesed upwards of 4500.00 in fees and I would be sued.

I told "Mr. Rogers" that this was the first phone call, notice, etc I had ever received regarding this and that per FDCPA, I wanted something in writing. He told me I was not entitled to since the law firm owned the debt. None of that makes any sense. he told me I have until 10am tomorrow to cal him back and make arrangements or what they claim I owe will go up 500%. Is this legal or am I being scammed. If I do indeed owe, I want to make good but I don't want to get hosed in the process.

The company name is Peachtree Law Center. They called from 720-306-0270 and gave me a callback of 888-497-4454.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!


Sounds like a scam or bottomfeeder. They have 5 days from intital phone contact to send you a dunning letter. Since his law firm owns the debt that makes the law firm a debt collector. Keep track of all calls from them, who you talk to etc. Sounds like they are already maiking FDCPA violations.

No rating for them on BBB says it started 12/2010 out of COlorado

Name- Vince Enterprises (based in Florida)- in the call they also referenced an island company. It was an internet loan and I am in Delaware.

The other thing that makes zero sense is that they went the skip trace route by contacting frineds/relatives before even tryng to contact me directly. They have also refused to provide me a fax # or address.

They called today also. In my case they went the skip trace way too, and told my son I was going to be arrested. I told them that since I was a victim of identify theft that I refuse to speak to them until I get something in writing. I did however trick them into providing me the address:

Said the attorneys name was Brad Baybell. I looked at the Colorado Bar Association - no such attorney. They have 5 days to send me something in writing, and you can bet I will be monitoring that.

I had a similar experience today. They called my sons, threatening immediate legal action. I called them back, they put me on hold to grab my file. "Michelle" said do you want to hear whats about to happen to you. My response was, I don't know who you are - never heard of you. I asked for their fax number - they said fax machine was down i asked for the mailing address - with some lies they gave it to me: Peach Tree Law Center, 2600 S. Parker Road, Bldg 5, Suite 359, Aurora, CO. 80014. Attorney Brad Baybell. When I looked on the Colorado Bar Association there is no attorney by that name. Also BBB has them listed as a collection agency. I am not real worried. However, I did tell them that since I am a victim of identify theft that I will not respond to anything unless its in writing.

I had 2 payday loans. Ashland and SSM, they said they were collecting on both. I am from Minnesota and I know for the most part internet payday loans are illegal, I know they aren't licensed to practice or collect, but my loans were taken out before the laws changed. Its nearly 2 years old.

I just got a call from my ex wife today around noon asking if I had something in collections in Colorado as someone she didn't know as trying to contact her. She lives in Northern California, as do I. Within 10 min my mother was calling me with the same damn information. I told her I knew what was going on as I just had talked to my dad, she said that my dad couldn't know what was going on as she had not told him yet... Turned out that within 20 min Peach Tree had contacted all three of them on their cell phones regarding this and that within an hour it was going to go to litigation and I would be prosecuted (Yes they told them all I was going to be prosecuted, however they did not say what for...) I called and the guy was a complete jerk informing me that I was risking jail time for not just paying the debt (Bear in mind he had not yet even told me what the debt was!) immediately. When I asked what the debt was he told me it was for a cash advance that was deposited in my checking account 6 years ago for 300$ and the debt was not 500$ and in 2 hours would go to 8,000$ and I would be prosecuted. I told him I was going to talk to my attorney about this and that I wanted him to send me proof that I signed anything regarding this "loan" also I asked if he had my signature on anything. He said they did, I asked if it was legible... (My signature is not...) He said "Um it's not in front of me, it's actually on the lawyer's desk..." I said I never signed anything he said it may have been an online loan. I said no way, I never did anything online and it may have been identity theft. He said regardless I was responsible for it and I would be the one prosecuted. I said to send me paperwork proving it, he said this was simply a courtesy call to resolve it and that if I gave them my checking account info or a credit card to show good faith that I wanted to resolve this, he would then be allowed to send me the paperwork. I called his bull crap and said no way. I said he had to prove it, he said as they have all the evidence and my agreement the burden of proof legally was not on them but indeed on me... Any help on this one? I am sure it's a scam, but I want them to pay for harrassing my family, as they are STILL calling my ex wife as of 2 hours ago!!! Even after I told him to leave my family and friends out of it!!! WTF?

Two members of my family were contacted today, about a debt that did not exist. They never contacted me, and I believe that is on purpose. They attempted to intimidate my relatives. However, they contacted my brother that works in the largest law firm in the State, and he burned their asses so bad they will never call again. It is obvious this is a scam, likely based on my stolen ID last year. All my electronic information was stolen from the hospital last year, which includes my family contact information, and the hospital bought me LifeLock for a year, still, this fake business is getting around LifeLock detecting this scam, by using the stolen information to contact relatives and scaring them in tp pay non-existing debts.

i returned a call from these creeps, a Ms Green has left a message, when I returned the call she said she had just turned the file over to the attorney,put me on hold to see if he would give it back to her, she came back & stated he refeused. then she transferred me to another jerk, who said that he was going te be nice as the call was being recorded, he said his spill then told me he now had stopped the recording as he was now going to get mean. I told go ahead. I told him to to whatever he had to do & I would see him in court. I then went online & research these creeps. What they are doing is against the law. I called then back & left a message for them to send me the letter they claimed to have sent. plus I told them about all the complaints the BBB in Colorado has on them. I now waiting for them to send me the letter or to call back. What they do is buy debts and then try to collect. well if they are that stupid to buy debts from other companies then too bad. I feel that if they are going to record the call then it has to be the whole call not just parts of it. So come Monday I will be calling them back & informing them that I am recording the call myself & also inform them that they have to record the whole call not just the part that where they are " being nice" . Let's see how they like that

I recieved a call from Peachtree law Centers yesterday while I was at work, on my voicemail they said that I had a legal matter that needed to be taken care of as soo as possible. When I returned the call and gave them my phone number they told me omeone elses name that I didn not know, They apologized and said not to worry about it. This morning they called me looking for my sister, yet they did not know my name or how I was related to her. They said that she had a case that needed to be taken care of and that she needed to return their call immediately. The guy, Reuben, was a complete jerk to me when I asked what it was regarding and I told him that I refused to relay the message if he did not tell me something that would make me believe it was not a scam. I then hung up and called my sister and she had never heard of them and googled the information., After finding out it was a scam I calld back and talked to the "supervisor" Jeff" I told him that my phone needed to be removed from his list and that I knew it was a scam. He tried to tell me that he works for Mr. Brad Daybell , and that he is a lawyer registered in Colorado and Idaho and I could look him up on the Supreme Court website.....My sister has never recieved a call nor has she recieved any mail from them anddoes not have a collection!

Ya i have also gotten a call from Peach Tree Law Center located in Colorado. Regarding a payday loan. The guy that called me was actually pretty nice, explaining to me why my file was in his law office. I did agree to not paying back my loan because it was 3 years ago, and I totally spaced it out. But I did tell the guy before paying anything I need in writing that I did actually take this payday loan out. I asked for as much info as i could...He gave me the address there local and toll free number. Also gave me Attorney Brad Daybell's name, so I could confirm he is legit. I did find that Attorney Brad Daybell was an actual active attorney in the state of Colorado. But yes before I paid a penny I had to make sure they were a legit Law office...which they were...they even offered to email me everything we talked about. so ya it is a legit law office/ debt collector

jamie is a humanoid shill as the post is full of lies and misinformation.first peachtree is not a collection law firm.they do real eastate,and probate law.secondly the attorney they reffered to is not a licensed lawyer period.i looked it up as well.to summarize the real peachtree dos not do pdl collections,and there is no brad daybell who's a licensed attorney.btw that info was bought to light in the first page of this thread.just shows how stupid these idiots think we are.back to the phones jamie.

Peachtree is a scam. Read section 806 of the FDCPA & you can get a giggle on all the rules they violate. & a law firm collecting debt?! How stupid. Don???t fall for their scam.
