i heard recently from someone i know who works for check into cash that in June 2011 TN are inforcing laws regarding PDLs that you can only take out a loan with a company 3 times in one year.
It doesnt make any difference to me but i was interested that TN is legislating regarding PDLs has anyone heard anything about it. I cant find anything but i hope its true i think our state needs to be tougher

I couldn't find it anywhere online. :( I would be extremely surprised and glad if this were true though. TN is the home of a few very powerful payday loan companies and if their state legislature is placing rather strict regulations on PDLs, its a good sign imo. Although with so many companies around, I'm not sure I see a 3 loans per yer per company limit helping too much other than spreading the wealth around between various PDL companies. It would have been much better had it been 3 loans per year across all companies, though I guess this is a start...

i agree i hope this is the start of tougher legislation. Check into cash which i think is actually a TN based company are certainly worried about it though. The person i know says they are encouraging staff to push Title loans so that the lack of PDLs wont hurt them so much but i think its time that TN law restricts even further PDLs this is just touching the tip of the iceburg

well thanks for looking i couldnt find anything anywhere either so i dont know where they got that from. I do know that they are having trouble in South Carolina though so whether it stems from that i dont know but i guess we can live in hope perhaps one day a light bulb will go off above some TN gov officials head and it will stop. There was a petition going round all of the store front PDLs last year because TN wanted to ban them i guess they got enough signatures. such a shame
