We have $24k in cc debt as of now and we're 90 days behind. I'm wondering how much is BofA willing to settle this amount or how low?

We have other cc Amex-$6k and Visa-$1k that we intend not to settle. We're current for the two but only paying the monthly minimum.

The reason for hardship is unemployment and only my wife is working.

TIA!

Hi. I suggest you search at the top of the forum page and enter FIA. That is the collection division of boa and much information and personal experience is already available there. When you find a thread that helps you, feel free to ask a question within it. In a general sense, you might be able to settle at 30% around 180 days.

We just settled a $64,000 balance on two B of A accounts for $17,000. I ignored all the calls until we got to 170 days past due just near charge off date....I called, gave them all the requested info and their offer was $17,000. We settled and will pay off the $17,000 in 4 payments over the next 3 months....Hold on, be patient...
