not at all.ERS is a bottomfeeder that wants to get you on the phone to threaten you.file a police report for the message.then use the name and number to file AG,AND FTC complaints.just do not call them back.it's not worth it.

I'm confused. Is there some reason I'm not aware of to report the phone call to the police? They haven't done anything not done by a million other creditors. Was there an order to cease and desist?
to call you to verify your address for a legal matter doesn't break any rules unless I missed something?
I would wait and see what they mail you and go from there. By all means send a debt validation letter if they send you a collection notice.

well let's go over this.ERS is a bottomfeeder.next the message stated a "legal matter"meaning to me the veiled threat of a lawsuit.kinda like the message of"you or your attorney"on it.lastly do a search for ERS and you will find posts similar to this.they never send anything and leave those kind of messages to get someone on the phone to try and scare money out of them.i know this because i have dealings with them two years ago.same type of message, and all they wanted was to try and scare money out of me.again i wouldn't return the call, and would file the complaints, but if future messages get more descript or they start calling others and disclosing.file the police report.
Everything you say makes sense, P.M. thank you for the update.
Everything you say makes sense, P.M. thank you for the update. One thing, my opinion only, I do not think that the police will be interested in getting a report of this call. The fact that it appears to be an idle threat based on your previous experiences and others experiences doesn't mean they will never file suit. Granted, since they are bottom-feeders they probably won't but they are prohibited, to my understanding, from threatening to do anything which cannot legally be done such as have you arrested. But that's just my opinion and you may very well be right, just sayin.
Also, if the police tend to categorize your calls as being not well-founded (in their opinion) some time when you seriously need them to respond quickly they may tend to write you off. A consideration that may or may not be valid depending on the p.d. involved. ;)
I agree with you PM, I don't think its any cause for significant worry on the part of the OP.
Never confirm debt
Please DO NOT acknowledge a debt. NEVER NEVER EVER under no circumstance send a debt acknowledgement or any other letter.
They are trying to get you to re-set the statue of limitations on time barred debt
Do not communicate with them at all
If they can LEGALLY collect any debt let them file in court.
You will most never hear from them again.
Remember they are recording the conversation
