I can help you with this situation because it seems like they are not acting legally at all with this. But I would need some more details so that I could give you the right information. For one thing, it would seem that this debt has most likely passed the statute of limitations, which means they cannot sue on it anymore. For another, unless you live in a community property state or unless your name was also on the credit card account, then they cannot touch you for it anyways. PLEASE get back to me....I am not an attorney and I do not charge any money for the help I give, but I know these laws and have been VERY successful in helping a lot of people on this forum with these kinds of issues.
