RJM Book Club Collections

I keep getting calls from RJM regarding book clubs that I did belong to years ago. I always paid for my selections in advance online.
I contacted one of the book clubs and they also insisted that I owed money for books from 2007. There is really not a way to go back that far to show that they were in fact paid for and I also think it is really strange that after all of these years, having met my obligations with both clubs, paid for my selections in full and resigned membership that both - One Spirit AND Crafters Choice have collection notices out in my name...I never ever received a bill from either company and out of the blue I began receiving calls from RJM. Are these clubs part of the same parent compan? Is this a common practice to suddenly insist that obligations have not been met or selections not paid for after 4 and 5 years? My daughter is receiving calls from bookclubs that she has never belonged to - what kind of a scam is this and what recourse do I have?

Welcome to the forums!
Ask them to validate the debt. If they are unable to prove that you owe money, then send a cease and desist letter to them. Under federal law, they can't contact you after receiving the cease and desist letter. It is one of the most common tactics of the collection agencies/companies/scammers to make money. So, don't get scared.
