Everybody is telling me to go w/the creditor instead of a settlement.
something to do w/chapter 13 (paying all back) and to be careful w/chapter 7 (Discharge of my debts) I wish I get an answere to all of this , so I can recall on someone.

I was considering using a settlement company but after researching this website there is no sense in giving your money to someone else who will be doing the EXACT same thing you can do on your own. I have a 10k BOA credit card account that was qouted a settlement offer of $3500 will be forthcoming . I plan on taking that offer , thanks to the people on this forum. You need to be patient though . Save yourself some money and deal with companies yourself . Tell them the truth about your inability to pay and they will help. Good luck and God Bless...

I agree. We went with a company that almost skinned us; why he didn't take us for more is beyond me. Luck, I guess. After that, we took over ourself and finished the job off. You can do this yourself with all the information and access to others you have on this forum. Read read read and KNOW THE LAW. You are protected, as a consumer.
