I received really scary letters after I defaulted on a loan through MyCashNow. I have read EVERYWHERE on here that they are not legal in the states (I'm in Michigan), so I really only have to pay the principal. What is the next best step after receiving these letters? I've already closed the account they were taking from.

Thank you much!

Thank you! That's really really helpful:) I have one more question that maybe you could answer...I also have loans through Advance America and Check 'n go. I was told by my consolidation advisor that they don't work through third parties, so I need to deal with them on my own. What is the best course of action for those? I was thinking of making payments to both after I get my tax refund, but that won't be for another few weeks.

On a side note...I've been reading a lot about T&C. I'm working Oak View Law Group right now, and was told by them that Advance America and Check 'n Go don't work with third parties (as I mentioned before). Does T&C work with them? Could anyone shoot some advice my way about that? Thanks a bunch in advance!
