Debt Effect on Family, it is not debt but it is ...

Whenever I talk to someone in debt, I see that it is an issue of worry and ultimately affecting his/her family.
I believe that by worrying we can not achieve or solve any issue, it unnecessarily adds complexity in life.
Try this,
- Take a paper and pen. Write down all your expenses, incomes and then calculate total disposable income. Try to increase income side and reduce expense side.
- One penny saved under expenses is more than one penny earned.
- Make plans and then stop worrying about everything.
Take your family out to park instead of an expensive restaurant.
It is the time that you spend with your family not the money you spend in that time that matters. Do not forget to enjoy the moments :). I will pray for all those going through debts, please do not let it affect your family life.

Hi Tintin,
That was just a great post. It is important to keep a level head and not stress out too much when dealing with finances, especially when we are talking about things that can be quite frightening like debt collectors and such. I agree that the best first step in not worrying so much about finances is to take a deep look into what your situation is and understanding your limits. And then you have to learn to let it go! You can't let these things take over your life, you will probably go crazy.
There are many things that you can do with your family that are cheap or even free, and I think some have been mentioned before, but they include the park, the library, etc. Stick to the "dollar theaters" instead of the expensive theaters. Take nice walks in your neighborhood (that is free AND you get exercise too!).
I got wrapped up so much in thinking about my finances that I wasn't making any forward progress. Then I screwed my head on straight and realized that you have to take it one day at a time.
Thanks for your post, it is a good reminder for all of us!
