There is nothing as such called non-profit debt consolidation agency. It is just a status given to some debt consolidation agencies by the IRS. You will have to pay some fees to these agencies while you take their help in consolidating your debts.

Non-profit debt consolidation companies do exist. However, they do charge a nominal fee for their services. They will not offer free service to you. Yes there most definately is a non profit in Minnesota.....it is run thru Lutheran Social Services.
