Just recieved a letter from MS GARCIA from GECC she said i owe them 678.00 on my loan of 500.00 that i have already paid 650.00 she said. Unless you notify this office within 30 days that you dispute the validity of this debt or any portion this office will assume the debt is valid. If you notify this office in writing within 30 days that you dispute validity of this debt this office will obtain verification of debt or obtain a copy of the judgement and mail you a copy of such judgement or verification. If i request in writing within 30 days after receiving this notice there office will provide me with name address of the original creditior if different from the currant creditor. What do i do now. Please help me.

What state are you in? Have you researched to see if they are even legal in your state?

A copy of WHAT judgment? They are full of crap, unless you have went to court about this debt they are flat out lying to you! Besides, the email you received is a common letter sent by 3rd party collectors, NOT the original creditor! You can read the link below, there is a sample validation letter in there. Quite honestly, if it were me, I would reply to them, they are full of crap.
