payday loan harassment

First, you cannot go to jail for an unpaid payday loan. If you could, then half the people on this forum would be in jail. Is VIP Cash a licensed lender in TN? Keep in mind if a lender is not licensed to do business in your State, then you are only obligated to pay back the principal balance. If they are not licensed, then it sounds as though they owe you a refund. Have you closed your bank account so they cannot take any more of your money? If not, do that immediately. VIP CASH is not legal anywhere so as lizzie stated,not only do you not owe but they owe you.the threats of jail are a favorite of illegal lenders.in fact there is a sticky titled DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS at the top of this very forum.go to it and follow it.now in the meantime file a police report as this bottomfeeder broke the law with the jail threat.file the report then hang up on them when they call.hang up without a word as that is what they deserve.

Try to get them on a recorder saying this, and check with the laws in your state, as this is unlawful in most states, and I am in Texas, also see if you can get witnesses to hear them threatening you, I hate people like this because if you actually see them on the streets they would start to beg and pled for your forgiveness....
