Hello all! I really need some advice on interpreting a letter I received from the SC Department of Consumer Affairs today regarding the complaint I filed against United Cash Loans. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as I am now really confused!

The letter is actually addressed to Mr. C. Dean Bratton, Commissioner of the Consumer Finance Division of the Board of Financial Institutions, and I was copied, as the complaintant, and United Cash Loans was copied, as they are who my complaint was against. The letter states:

Dear Mr. Bratton,

Based upon our evaluation of the allegations made in the above referenced complaint, it appears the business is a licensed lender. Therefore, we have enclosed a copy of the complaint for your review and whatever actions you deem appropriate.

Please send us any written suggestions, comments, or actions you may take regarding this situation. We have placed the complaint in a pending status until we hear from you.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,

Lauren Aguilar

OK, so I thought that United Cash Loans was ILLEGAL. I can't find record of them being licensed in SC. Do you think that she mistyped and meant to say is not a licensed lender? Otherwise, why would she be asking what actions he deems appropriate? I am so confused! And the oddest thing, out of the many complaints I have filed, UCL was the last one that I filed (on February 9th), yet I've had no response on any of the other cases....only this one. Any thoughts??

Yeah, I think they messed up something. Today I got 2 more letters from the SC Dept of Consumer Affairs - one for the VIPLoanshop.com and the other for ABCPaydayloans.com.....and they have forwarded those complaints on the the Secretary of State of the appropriate state for each. One was Kansas, I can't remember the other......
