I started my process back in July of 2010 and today I settled my last account. I started with 3 accounts, BofA, HSBC and Citi.

BofA was the first to settle mid Jan of this year. We were at $22,000 and they accepted $6300 in one lump sum mid Jan

HSBC had a balance of $23,000 and it settled at $8000 mid Feb

Today I settled with Citi. They sent it to collections at day 112 and the way I found that out was on day 114 I called to make a settlement offer. They said since it went to collections they would not discuss it with me and I needed to wait for the law firm to contact me. They finally did and I offered them less than what I was ready to offer Citi on day 114 as a starting point. They said they would have to get approval and they did. It settled for $6400 on a balalce of $15500.

I settled over all for roughly 33% and saved over $38000. It was a long journey with a lot of stress, but I came in here almost daily and read every thread over and over. I also have started working on the inslovent work sheet and things are looking very good there also.

I think for once in a long time I will sleep like a baby full of warm milk tonight. Thanks for all the support this site has provided.

Congrats! I'm in a very similar predicament. I have about $17k or so of charge-offs, which have since been passed down multiple companies.

I have no clue who to start contacting but I am determined to start getting this off my back. My last payment on all of my accounts were summer of 2009.
