Payday loans

Hi - I have taken out a couple of payday loans back in 2008 /2009 - I lost my job and was extremely sick which leaded me to not paying my bills...
I took out money from One Click Cash and US Fast Cash -
I am guessing since these companies are illegal I have to tell them that I am only going to pay the amount I took out ? Will these companies that are illegal ever show up on my credit report?
And what if I never pay them what would happen?
I have to know what I got myself into and what I am currently in.
