A collection agency agreed to my settlement offer

Make sure you have the settlement offer in writing BEFORE they get the money!!!

With my old agency, the front office used to do the faxing for us...we were not permitted to. Sometimes they didnt get done immediately.

It says that I am paying by check though & we agreed on Western Union.

Also, it says nothing about how they will report to the credit bureaus. Should I fax them back and nicely explain that these things need to be corrected????

It doesn't say settled in full, it doesn't say anything about reporting to the credit agencies, it is not signed. Should I send a reply fax asking that these things be included??

Is the CA reporting or is it the creditor doing the reporting? The expectation is that your tradeline will reflect settled in full or settled for less than the full amount. Dont expect them to make the tradeline positive. A paid collection is a paid collection.

agreed SOAPLADY,but i would get it in writing that once the 325.00 is paid they would owe nothing further.meaning they won't sell the remainder.seen that too many times.get that provision and you are good to go.
