Hello,
I have two credit cards in collections from 2009. I have moved a lot since then, and have not received phone calls or mail from either collector. But I do have their phone number and address from my credit report. One is for around $1300, and the other only $600.00. I was wondering if it be best to initiate contact through mail or phone first, as I would like to validate the debt , and then try to get a "pay for deletion" on each card. I would be willing to pay it in full, if they would agree to do this. Also, if this does happen for me, how do I go about getting the original creditors to remove negative items from my report.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Gotchya. Well, I'm trying to get these bills behind me ASAP. I have the funds to pay in full if I have to, what steps should I take from here to put this behind me quickly? Is it okay to call and ask for a statement for what I owe? What would be the best way to handle this, having the cash in hand to take care of it? Thanks again.
